so naturally, when i was browsing-because-of-boredom-at-work , stumbling upon the cupcakes at marthastewart.com, i fell in love with this one.

love: cupcakes. they're so cute. and i love to decorate them. and make them cute. but i hardly ever do because...

hate: cupcakes. well, cake. which includes cupcakes.

also, chrysanthemums are november's flower. and i'm a november baby. and i love chrysanthemums. probably why i love that cupcake's decoration so much.

yesterday i loved life. i wasn't stressed. i took the day for myself. slept in. took my time getting ready. practiced the organ (so i can actually use the pedals in church). christmas shopped. blasted the heat. and the christmas tunes (thank you ella, louis, frank, dean, and bing). painted some christmas cards with airin. saw invictus.

and my GLASSES are coming in approximately 1-2 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so thursday. it was pretty much SUPER cold. note to self: don't wear flats to school when you have to walk 15 minutes to and from your car in 14 degree weather.

i fell in love with my j.crew all over again.

1. remember these? and how i bought a second pair because they are SO warm!? totally worth it. i want a 3rd pair. i'm telling you--these with a pair of thinner tights under are PERFECT. my legs aren't cold (just my feet because i have flats on) and with boots for a snowy day is just the best. warm warm warm.

2. airin and i went to the temple thursday night. i put on my super warm wool blend tights i got for christmas last year from the crew. i wouldn't be opposed to getting another pair. or 3.

3. a couple years ago {when i had the best job teaching piano} i bought myself a j.crew coat {w.thinsulate = extra extra warmth} for christmas. i knew i'd be coming up to byu {well, it wasn't official yet} and would need a warm coat. uh, can we say toasty? also wouldn't be opposed to getting this one that i tried on at banana republic yesterday. it fit like a glove. i don't need it.

4. and since everything else is so warm, then i'm thinking i need to get some pretty j.crew sweaters.

why do you have to be so expensive. i buy everything on sale {except for the cords. but i got the college discount --15% in store only on regular priced items--} and you are still pricey. very pricey. and i'm kind of not working right now. and paying for rent. and over-priced books. and groceries. and a million elementary ed projects. oh well. i don't really need you. but you are so so warm. and so so cozy. and so so so so cute. and i love you.

monday, monday

cold. but i still ran--i gotta get it in while the sun still shines and there's no hazardous/death trap ice. although, i really shouldn't because i have projects coming out my ears and, just in case you didn't know, thanksgiving is in a week! which means there are only 3 weeks of class left. and all of my projects are due within those weeks. AH! it's ok, i keep plugging away. except i didn't get much done this weekend. saturday was too depressing for a number of reasons, mainly the snow.

1. "Behold the Condescension of God" is probably the best article I have ever read. click here to read it. i found it about six months ago and decided to read it again. I can't even describe how good it is--so good, so powerful. Elder McConkie did it again {in 1969. it was in the new era [which is kind of crazy--this is pretty deep] in 1984 but was a BYU devotional in 69...i want to read the whole thing but byu's broadcasting website doesn't have it!! so i emailed them. never fear.} i highly highly highly recommend it.

2. i'm obsessed with this color for my nails. i would like this lovely brand but i choose to go with the 99 cent version, which works wonders. only color i wear on my nails. a little more than clear--gives it a nice, femme shine. {just so you know.}

3. i am working on my artist brief lesson plans for art. my artist: Pablo Picasso. they are going to be pretty amazing. and my {future} students will make something like this. collages!!
