tis the reason for the season:

the birth of Christ, our Savior, our Redeemer.
Ms. Gwyneth Paltrow had this on her blog this morning:
{and for the record, hers is the only celebrity blog i look at}
a question and a few responses from priests & leaders of other faiths.
question:
“The figure and teachings of Jesus are too often broken down, adapted, and then shaped to fit people’s own particular needs and desires. Who was the real, walking, talking, preaching Jesus and what lessons can we take from him today?”

I know that Heavenly Father sent His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to this mortal life. It was part of His Plan-- the Savior of the World to be born into mortality, in a lowly manger, a humble birth. To live a glorious life performing miracles: Healing the sick, causing blind to see and lame to walk, and raising men from the dead.
He suffered for the sins of all mankind. And not just that: our sicknesses, our sorrows, our trials and tribulations. He was crucified on Calvary.
He rose again on the third day. He lives! And because He lives, I will live again.
All this so that we can return to live with He and Our Father again.

One this Christmas day, may we all take a break from the hustle and bustle of the world and think about our Savior. Read in the Book of Mormon of His annunciation and the events of His Birth {Helaman 14, 16, 3 Nephi 1} and of His birth in the New Testament {Luke 2}.
Reflect on your relationship with Him.
Write your feelings and impressions.
Commit to be more like Him.
Merry Christmas
