i took my new buddy jade.

i didn't want to bore my 4 or 7 {known} readers with my marathon mania-ness. so i made a separate blog: marathon mania. it will consist of running, fueling, recovering, and more tips from experts {not myself} as well as my experience training for and running my first marathon as a loves-to-run runner.

i'm also using it as a means for me to keep track of my training. check it out, if you feel so inclined. {there's also a link on the sidebar.}

i've been pimping the blog. i added labels to all but 20-ish posts {that's what i did during my foundations of education philosophy-ish class. don't worry, i'm half there, and i contribute a little bit. and i do the reading. and the reflection, so it's all good.}

it's mostly just fun for me. let's be honest here: who really cares but me. maybe my dad. and my sisters. and buckman {no, he's a dog. i just like to think he cares.}

i'm going to disneyland in 2 weeks. did my disney service. check it out. get into disneyland one day for free! just do some service first. but really, should disney have to bribe us $80 worth of a ticket to do 3 hours of service? i sure hope not...

it's the weekend. mine will consist of: homework--reading, studying, test-taking, writing; going to the best buddies ball; running; and hopefully getting some sleep

marathon mania

so one of the things on my bucket list {like my real bucket list, not my utah one} is to run a marathon.

monday on my run i saw a poster for the utah valley marathon, saturday, june 12th.

i got really excited and thought about it the rest of my run. at that point i still hadn't decided whether or not to stay for spring/summer. well, now i'm staying.

so some girls in my math ed class were talking about marathons today. one of them is doing one in may. the other is going to do the utah valley one. and i asked them "when on earth do you train" and la la la...if they can do it [with the same class schedule as me + both of them work 15 hours a week] then certainly i can [without working 15 hours a week].

so i emailed erin. she's out. that would involve her coming up for the weekend [and she would have altitude against her]. well, bummer. i don't want to do it alone. so then i asked steve. he's in. hallllllelujah. i am so excited.

it's not official yet since i haven't signed up, but i will be this weekend {right after i do my teaching internship application, scholarship apps, and fafsa. oh, and my math exam and other assignments}.

please send your positive vibes this way.

so i am staying for spring&summer.

which means i will be able to tick away at my bucket list.

but alissa, nikki, and i are going to do it. we are going to be teachers. in the fall. yikes. but i am so excited. and i love them.

Friday

it snowed SO much friday night.

like inches upon inches.

and it looked SO pretty

we took advantage of it.

and made a 7 foot snowman.

that had leaves all over him

and dirt

and he may or may not have had chest hair

{that is what i'm pointing to}

[and please, notice the HUGE gloves i borrowed.]

and he was SO big

and then i stood on someone's hands

but then alissa sat on him

then we went for a midnight sledding sesh at rock canyon park

it's pretty much a big bowl.

and corrie and i went down this big hill.

and we laughed the entire time.

so much laughing that i wasn't even laughing.

and we rolled off at the bottom and just laughed.

and then we took this picture.

then some girls pretended to be dogs.

and i snapped this RIGHT as lyndi was ready to pounce.

Saturday

so corrie works at outback steakhouse

and she hostess-ed these guys on thursday night that write songs for musicals and wrote their own musical and are currently working on a James and the Giant Peach for broadway.

long story short, they were here from NYC for the high school Utah Theater Association doing workshops, etc, and had a concert for all the students Saturday night.

they invited Corrie, who bragged about her cupcakes {which are vegan and AMAZING...and if you don't remember, i hate cake, but these strawberry shortcake babies are so dang good}

anyway Corrie brought some cupcakes and i went with her to this concert

and they saw her in the audience and pulled her up and introduced her and la la la. and then apparently she talked about me when she met them so they had me say hello as well.

then after the show they wanted to go out with us so they took us to CPK.

and they are so fun and so cool.

obviously.

and now we have cool new york friends.

and in the theater / musical world they are pretttttty big.

way to go corrie. we had so much fun.

oh and by the way, i've been ticking things off my utah bucket list...
