snow, christmas, and such

it snowed on wednesday (or maybe it was tuesday.  no, i'm pretty sure it was wednesday.)
then it mostly melted.

it snowed a ton last night (friday night).  like, a ton.  steven and i went to golden spoon and almost died because the roads were unplowed and it was really coming down.  who goes to golden spoon when it's snowing and 20 degrees?  um, we do.

this is what the post office looked like today.
(and there were a lot more parcels behind the counter. and the line was long.  but one of the workers was directing traffic and helping people out front.  he was a gem.  way to have the christmas spirit--at a boy!)
ps, why does shipping cost so much?  $10 to ship one thing!

last friday steven and i went to temple square to see the temple lights.  that was my first time doing that after 3 years in provo.  i LOVED it. love, love, love.
before that we had gone to paradise bakery (in american fork).  steven LOVES that place.  so we went again on tuesday.  and we will probably go there like once a month.  so good.  they are famous for their cookies.  and you get a cookie with your meal.  erin, you would love it.  the chocolate chip cookies are almost as good as our family recipe.  (so what, i'm bias.  but ours are the best.)  and i absolutely love white chocolate macadamia nut cookies--they had a winner.  unfortunately, the closest one to my home in ca is like 25-30 minutes away.
em--we're going when you come up here!!

my kiddies earned their christmas present.  well, we were working towards a "special activity" so i did this cool peace on earth / christmas around the world activity.  we talked about christmas in  each of the countries they had done for their country reports.  they loved it.  and then they got krispy kreme donuts (ew, i hate donuts.  although, in middle school it was krispy kreme or bust. i haven't had a donut since my sophomore year of high school and i don't plan on changing that. ever.).

it's cinnamon roll season.  i'm missing the holiday baking with mom this year.  NEVER FEAR.  i carry on the tradition here.  this is a photo from last year's cinnamon roll baking.  i made some for steven on thursday.  tomorrow i'm going to town for the faculty at my school (well, like 10 of them).

oh meet steven.  this is a phone photo with horrible lighting = double whammy.  oh well--i'm getting a camera in one week.
