the sunday morning post, 11th ed.

my favorite day of the week.

here's what i will be doing today:

church . taking bucky for a walk at the beach {65/70 degrees in december? heaven. [especially since my computer says 9 degrees in provo at 9.30 am. must i go back?]} nap. homemade whole wheat pizza-making {our new "family is all home! let's make pizzas!" tradition}. family time {seinfeld scene it? i think so!}

Christmas update:

eve at aunt j's. danny and denae came from AZ with little luke!

cinnamon rolls christmas morning. mmm.

feast at g.ma's in the afternoon/evening.

{one}

speaking of g.ma...

she seems to always find funny little things to get us.

like when she got me this udderly cool cow tool set before i moved to provo

so this year she bought bucky some gifts.

he was pretty into christmas this year.

usually he just loves that the family is all sitting together on the floor and there's paper and bags everywhere. and he always gets a bag of treats and some balls.

which is pretty fun to watch him try to fit them all in his mouth at the same time. or throw them down the hall all at once and he gets all confused because he doesn't know which one to pick up.

but this year bucky was different.

we blame it on the birthday.

he knows what presents are.

and he kept thinking they were all for him.

anyway.

g.ma's crazy gift to the bucky?

a camelbak.

for a dog.

there's a collapsable water bowl that comes with it,

the water goes in the bowl for the dog and then you drink out of the little hose thing.

clever.

and she also got him, rather us, a treat baking kit.

as in mix to make doggie biscuits.

complete with cat and bone cookie cutters.

{two}

my gift to mom:

framed "The Family: A Proclamation to the World"

and a family picture.

then stitched flowers and "Families are Forever" {respectively} on the matting.

{three}

my gift to erin:

for her bday. which is not for a month, but i will be in utah so i decided this year that i would get her one before i go back.

instead i made it:

shadow box frame {love those. love ikea frames. used for mom's gift too.}

my new favorite photo of us girls.

also, our christmas card.

yesterday / today

approximately 11 hours until i step foot on california soil. and approximately 13 hours until i step foot on california sand. that's right, erin said it's supposed to be about 77 tomorrow. beach.

some recent updates of my life.

{one}

wednesday morning i drove alissa to the airport.

on the way back, my windshield wiper got stuck...

off of the windshield!

nevermind how i got it back on there.

{two}

i took my music final in 5 minutes yesterday.

then i sold back the rest of my books

{thank you byu. you help poor students like me buy christmas gifts. and go out to breakfast on new years. and pay $15 to check a bag--boo delta. and pay a friend to take you to the airport.}

then i said hello to marissa in the library and removed some things from my locker

{good thing to have on campus!}

all within an hour.

then i ate brunch

{oh yeah. i had to stop by the grocery store. [hence the brunch] i couldn't go 2 more days with no food. just wasn't working for me.}

then i put in fever pitch and painted.

and mod podged some flowers on my planner!

cute, right?

{three}

pre-rising dough.

yeah, i made a lot of cinnamon rolls.

and drizzled red frosting over them so they would look like peppermint candies.

and they kinda did.

[please note the presence of the glasses. they are so back. and i haven't worn contacts since. the eyes and i are just taking a little break.]

{four}

we had a little secret santa gift exchange last night.

airin had me and got me a cute little picture frame!

and i'm going to put this picture in it!

{five}

airin and i watched devil wears prada this morning.

i worked on my english final --just a cute little half sheet info page about me. one for each classmate to have for future reference. cool. now i have a book of contacts in my field. really cool. i stayed 3 extra days to do that. but it's done!

{six}

cougar creations is a pretty cool place.

except i never have good experiences there. well, only when i went there for all these english prsentations/projects did i have a horrible time. i spent an hour and a half there today. i had to redo my entire info sheet because it just didn't work out. oh well. it's done!

then i got some jamba juice because i had a $2 off coupon and was starving and due to my delay i was unable to go home before my final which also meant that my oversized-short-sleeved sweater wasn't enough to keep me warm as i power walked to the car.

{seven}

i used the rest of my veggies and food. i only have a bag of brown rice left. oh and i have about a cup of yogurt so i can eat breakfast.

but my dinner was SO good. i think i'm going to make it all of the time now.

{eight}

i've been packing the past 6 hours. i just keep getting distracted!

and corrie is bouncing off the walls, and i'm just a little bit not tired and super hyper too so it's just not good. let's just say we used glow sticks and a foam parrot visor.

the sunday morning post, 8th ed.

{due to the fact that i woke up at 4.24 am to make a 10 hour road trip + church stop in st. george last week, there was no sunday morning post. my apologies.}

been working like crazy the past week. it will all be over thursday! {and no more staying in on the weekends doing homework. at least for another couple of months.}

[currently: listening to mo tab & josh groban christmas music.]

one. tonight the roomies and i are going to the 1st Presidency Christmas Devotional.

so excited--it's one of my most favorite things at Christmas time.

{and home being decorated--love all the lights. thanks dad!}

Two. Definitely woke up to this. Grabbed my phone and stepped outside {barefoot} to snap a photo. There's something special & peaceful about waking up to fresh snow.

Three. I was 9 hours behind schedule yesterday. But I was productive the whole day. and ended up accomplishing 75% of what i intended to despite the delay.

Started out at the temple. Couldn't have been more perfect. I LOVE the temple. {That's a lie--started at JoAnn's & Michaels to get fabric for a project. I forgot it was Saturday morning, in Utah = sewing central. I roamed the store 30 minutes before it was my turn to get my 1 yard of striped fabric cut for my "Pirate's Booty" creative dance lesson to 5th graders on Tuesday.}

mr. mailman:

picked up some $1 wooden rubber stamps at Michaels. what a steal. {remember how i'm obsessed with them?} so excited to use them. messed around a little last night. expect to deliver some notes from me soon.

Four. Miss Katie came over after work and we had a homework party. I watched 3 movies yesterday while doing 2 of my projects {bourne ultimatum [love 'em all. dad--maybe we can have another bourne marathon this christmas. nothing better than eating a ton of cinnamon rolls and sitting on the couch for 6 hours], remember the titans, walk the line. oh and friday night i watched sleepless in seattle and hitch. crazy weekend. good thing i was working on the aesthetics of my projects & not having to use my brain.}
