happy bday dr. seuss!

Yes, yes.
I even do celebratory bday posts for famous people--
but only the one's i really like
and know
{like ella}
[side note: abe lincoln is one of my favorite people ever and i didn't do him.
or joseph smith.
so let's just say that it's just when i feel so inclined.]

In celebration of Dr. Seuss' Birthday
{aka Theodore Gisele -- talked about him and his writing in children's lit last semester}

today is...

Read Across America
day.

what does that mean?
we celebrate reading!
go read a book to a child.
encourage and motivate them to read.

i won't go on about how important reading and literacy is right now, we'll save that for another day, but just know that it is absolutely vital to read to children--starting with wordless picture books when they're babies.

so do it.

go read a kid a book.

or check out this website to find events today and this coming weekend.

and pretty much every barnes and noble has something going on.
